Clay Township has been awarded the SHEP-2026 Traffic Grant: Summer Holiday Enforcement Program. This grant provides targeted enforcement opportunities throughout the year, focusing on specific traffic safety initiatives during designated timeframes:
April: Distracted Driving Awareness Month
May 18 – May 31: Click It or Ticket Campaign
July 2 – July 5: Independence Day Holiday Enforcement
August: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over (DSOGPO)
September: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over (DSOGPO)
This grant provides Clay Township an opportunity to enhance traffic enforcement efforts while offsetting the costs associated with officer overtime. By participating in these focused enforcement periods, the Police Department can proactively address traffic violations, reduce crashes, and improve overall roadway safety for the community.

2026 Clay Township Fire and EMS LevyList Item 2
Thank you Clay Township!
The election results of the 2026 Fire and EMS Levy reflect our communities ability to recognize real need and come together to support our emergency services departments, we are truly grateful for everyone who participated and voted.
Thank you to the community members who spent numerous hours ensuring valuable information was being shared throughout the community, to Fire Chief's Flether, Aldrich, and Rayburg for taking their time to educate us, and to the City of Brookville and the Brookville Chamber of Commerce for their unwavering support.
Thank you all again, for caring and counting on Clay Township to provide the highest level of services our community deserves.

The Village of Phillipsburg contracts with Clay Township Police Dept for Police ProtectionList Item 3
The Clay Township Board of Trustees was presented with a request from the Village of Phillipsburg to consider a contract to provide police services. Several open meetings were held by the Township and the Village where valuable information was provided regarding the current status of the Village's Police Department and the options the township would be able to offer. The terms and benefits for both communities were discussed and as of May 11, 2026 the contract was finalized and approved.
The township and village leaders are confident this new partnership will work to ensure all community safety.

Life Saving AwardList Item 4
At the Board of Trustees meeting, May 5, 2026, Chief Birk presented the Life Saving Award to Officer Lovins, Officer Williams, Officer Studzinski, and to a wonderful citizen Sarah.
On April 14, 2026 The Clay Township PD responded to a motor vehicle accident with an unresponsive driver. They quickly realized the medical issue and began CPR and Sarah, the nurse that just happened to be driving by, stopped and continued CPR until the ambulance arrived. Thanks to the quick response and going above and beyond attitude of these wonderful people the individuals life was saved. The Township thanks you once again and will always be grateful!
