Board Meeting of the Clay Township-City of Clayton JEDD

OPENING OF MEETING 

Kip Wahlers opened the meeting at 1:00 p.m. with the request to elect a Chairperson and called for a nomination for Chairperson.

Joe Tuss was nominated and unanimously approved by the board for Chairman for a period of one year.

Jim Percival was nominated and unanimously approved as Secretary/Treasurer for the board, for a one-year term.

Norman L. Kniess was nominated and unanimously approved as the Vice-Chairperson of the board, for a two-year term. 

JEDD BOARD BY-LAWS  

The JEDD Board by-laws, including the Rules of Notification to the Public and News Media were adopted. Kip Wahlers, using Miami Township’s JEDD By-laws as the template, prepared the by-laws.

The by-laws had been made available for review to the members prior to the meeting. 

INCOME TAX ORDINANCE 

Documentation for the ordinance was provided to the board prior to the meeting, and was adopted from the City of Clayton’s Income Tax Ordinance.

The ordinance was passed unanimously. 

MEETING SCHEDULE 

It was determined that the JEDD Board would meet on the first Friday of each month for the first six months of 2008 from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Clay Township Offices.

The exception to this is the month of April, that meeting will be on Friday, April 11th.

The second six months, the JEDD Board will meet every other month for the remainder of the year, with

additional meetings if necessary, with prior notification. 

FUTURE BUSINESS 

For the next meeting, the Secretary / Treasurer will have available a chart of accounts; will have established a bank account for the JEDD and provided notice to the media of the scheduled meetings.

The Board plans to review the JEDD territory and discuss future business potential and opportunities for the JEDD territory. Additionally, Joe Tuss plans to have a comprehensive update on the latest progress for providing infrastructure to the area.
