CUSTOMER RULES AND REGULATIONS
REGULAR COLLECTION (ALSO APPLICABLE TO RECYCLING)

All garbage
and refuse shall be left at curbside, the edge of street
right-of-way, or at the rear of the property where applicable no
later than 6:30 a.m. on the designated day of pickup.

Garbage and
refuse shall be limited to: every accumulation of waste (animal,
vegetable and/or other matter) that results from the preparation,
processing, consumption, dealing in, handling, packing, storing,
canning, transportation, decay or decomposition of meats, fish,
fowl, birds, fruits, grains or other animal or vegetable matter
(including, but not limited to that used in tin cans and other
food containers; and all putresible or easily decomposable animal
or vegetable waste matter which is likely to attract flies or
rodents); all chips, shavings, sawdust, printed matter, paper,
pasteboard, rags, straw, discarded shoes and boots, combustible
waste pulp and other such as are used for packaging or wrapping
crockery and glass, ashes, cinders, floor sweepings, glass,
mineral or metallic substances, bulky waste, and any and all other
waste materials except hazardous waste and large items. Also
included: any and all dead animals of less than 10 pounds,
except those slaughtered for human consumption.

All garbage
must be drained and wrapped. Separation of trash and garbage shall
not be required.

Hot ashes will
not be accepted. Other ashes, cinders, shavings, packing peanuts,
etc. should be bagged and tied for removal.

Automobile
tires or other tires will be accepted for pickup for a small fee.
(Please contact Dempsey for pricing.) Tires shall be picked up
with large items described in item 9 below.

All garbage
and refuse must be placed inside the toter, or in suitable
containers such as metal or plastic trash cans or plastic trash
bags. Oil drums, barrels, and other large containers will not be
acceptable as refuse containers. These items will be removed as
trash and not returned.

Senior
Citizens (age 60 years and older), low volume service shall be
limited to one 32-gallon garbage can or one 32-gallon trash bag
per week.

Large items
such as appliances, hot water heaters, discarded furniture, on
site construction materials, and other articles of similar nature,
shall be picked up on the regularly scheduled day once per month.
Customers must notify Dempsey Waste 48 hours in advance if they
wish to have Dempsey pick up large items. The property owner
must place all items for pickup at the curb or street edge. There
is a limit of 2 large or bulk items per month.

Christmas
trees shall be placed at the point of collection and will be
picked up on the regular scheduled day during the first week of
January.
