Clay Township
Montgomery County, Ohio

Comprehensive Plan

AMENDMENTS TO SR 49 CORRIDOR
AND AGRICULTURAL USE AREAS

Recommended by the Clay Township Zoning Commission on April 30, 2001

Approved by the Board of Trustees on June 19, 2001

Adopted by the Montgomery County Planning Commission on December 12, 2001

Introduction:

Within the overall planning framework of the Montgomery County Comprehensive Development Plan, the following material is focused upon Clay Township, comprising an analysis of its present characteristics, observed developmental trends, and projected future land development pattern. Particular emphasis has been placed upon the formulation of recommended policies - those actions and strategies believed necessary to achieve the objectives of the proposed land use plan for the Township. Such policies, comprising pertinent areas of County as well as Township responsibilities in conjunction with the graphic plan, provide an effective reference for officials responsible for making developmental decisions for the Township.

In addition to the 1990 base data and recommendations, this Plan incorporates some revised data and targeted recommendations resulting from a 2001 Plan Update conducted by the Township. As part of this Plan Update, portions of this Plan were revised including demographic data (for the unincorporated Clay Township only) and maps covering Flood Hazard Areas, Existing Land Use, Thoroughfares, and Future Land Use. The intention of this Plan, as readopted following the 2001 Plan Update, is to update the Township’s Comprehensive Plan, which also serves as a component of the Montgomery County Comprehensive Development Plan.
